Through service and fundraising for charitable organizations, Kappa Alpha Theta’s members and chapters demonstrate their commitment to spreading the widest influence for good. Each year on October 19, Thetas worldwide celebrate founder Bettie Locke Hamilton’s birthday with Day of Service. And every year, college and alumnae chapters also host fundraising events to benefit Theta’s two philanthropic partners: Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation and Court Appointed Special Advocate of the South Plains. No matter the time of year or the event, Thetas are committed to making the world a better place.
Theta Foundation
Created by Thetas for Thetas in 1960, Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational tax-exempt organization. Theta Foundation’s mission is to secure and manage resources for the educational, leadership, and philanthropic programs of the Fraternity and for the academic, professional, and service pursuits of its members. Awarding more than $1.1 million annually, Theta Foundation stands as pillar of support for Thetas to help them reach their fullest potential and make a difference in the world.

Court Appointed Special Advocate of the South Plains
The Gamma Phi Chapter has partnered with CASA of the South Plains to impact the lives of foster children, right here in Lubbock, Texas. As an organization of women committed to spreading the widest influence for good, Kappa Alpha Theta has contributed millions of dollars over the years to our local CASA program as well as countless volunteer hours.
